Environmental Policy

1. Purpose
As a consumer of resources CCW Services Limited recognises its responsibility to future generations. Acknowledging its contribution to the growing environmental burden, it will follow good business practices promoting sustainable development.
Our environmental policy must earn the confidence of anyone who comes into contact with CCW Services Ltd., by demonstrating our commitment to complying with relevant legislation, commitment to protecting the environment including prevention of pollution, minimising resource use and waste through continual improvement of performance in all areas of the company.
2. Scope
In line with our strategic direction, this policy applies to all CCW Services Limited activities and operations in the provision of Transportation, Bulk Goods Warehousing, Rework Services and Specialist Pallet Supplier.
3. Policy
To achieve good environmental management, we will:
Identify environmental aspects of CCW Services Ltd and their significant impact on the environment
To always consider the potential impact of our activities at a local level and how they could affect the world wide situation with climate change.
Monitor & review environmental impacts and emissions and to comply with applicable regulations;
Demonstrate control of all our operations and ensure they are performed with due consideration of the environment (including managing the impact of our transportation activities);
Ensure environmental awareness and provide necessary training, briefing etc to all persons working on behalf of CCW Services Ltd and to ensure environmental responsibility is integrated into normal working practises;
Seek to use products that have the least possible environmental impact where financially viable;
Dispose of electrical and electronic equipment in compliance with the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) regulations;
Minimise storage and use of own substances hazardous to health and the environment;
Monitor consumption of resources (energy, materials, packaging) to reduce use where financially feasible;
Minimise waste through commitment to reuse, recover or recycle and comply with any agreed client policies.
Ensure all our waste contractors are compliant with current legislation with all records present to verify this.
Identify, prevent, and mitigate against potential accidents that could result in an environmental impact so that if an accident did occur the consequence would be minimised e.g. fire and spillages;
Seek to minimise pollution;
Seek to prevent water wastage, pollution of surface water, water courses and drains;
Limit or restrict noise pollution;
Protect Wildlife and Habitat;
Protect Archaeology and Heritage;
Promote continual improvement by regularly monitoring and reviewing our environmental performance.
Produce, train and implement revised ‘Spill procedures’ to ensure minimal environmental impact after any spillage.
Review and implement, where reasonably practical, our usage of lifting equipment to ensure the most efficient use of natural resources.
It is our duty to ensure that good environmental management is practised in all activities that we are involved in and we will seek to influence customers and suppliers to demonstrate a positive environmental commitment.
We will ensure that we work with companies that comply with current legislation and are committed to ensuring their activities have a minimal impact on the environment.
The company will communicate the environmental policy statement to all company representatives and subcontractors, and it will be freely available to customers and the public on request to the General Manager. All representatives and subcontractors will enforce this policy.
This policy statement shall be reviewed at least annually as part of the management review process for continuing suitability. The Managing Director is personally responsible for the environmental performance of the company and approves this policy statement to acknowledge this.
